Heeelp !!! Building 1980 jeep cj 5.

Postby cj5isalive » Sun May 06, 2007 3:12 pm

Hi I could use any tricks on raising my jeep off the ground lol, any tips on body lifts (when i was younger a few decades ago lol, we used hockey pucks on our pick-ups as a cheap bodylift) and has anybody fabricated their own spring over lift i need to look at one up close to see if can build it myself, also if i add an extra leaf spring how much would this help, also I need to find a tilt steering column what vehicles can i get one out of (i met a fellow in calgary that told me he put one out of a cadilac (telescoping/tilt) but try and find one lol), any help will be apriciated thanks

Not alot of the guys here are big into the older stuff from what I've gathered (though I'm sure now that I said that I'm sure someone will jump in and try to tell me I'm wrong). Your best bet is to check out www.missioncontrol.ca it's another local offroad club and theres some guys on there that can give you a ton of info. (Some of them are on here too, but I don't think they check these boards as often). Savage would be the guy to talk to about CJ's... he's a huge wealth of knowledge when it comes to the older stuff.
